Article about SAGE Archives in the Spanish newspaper “El Pais”

Un tesoro musical Español

Plagued with stories of scandal and corruption, the Spanish version of BMI and ASCAP, La Sociedad General de Autores Espanoles (SGAE), housed in the exceptional modernist architecture Palacio de Longoria in the center of Madrid, is  maligned by the general public in Spain, with their supposed draconian methods of billing for the rights of usage of music at weddings, photocopies and large fees for the rights of performance.  This article reminds of one of the true mission of SGAE; they are essentially the repository of most of the legacy of music by the composers of Spain; my friend Mariluz Gonzalez, who works for the archive, is quoted.
