I’m a mezzo soprano from New York City and a lover of Hispanic culture. I dedicate most of my concert repertoire to the composers of Spain and Latin America, often researching lesser known composers, doing themed concerts and lectures and providing adventurous programming for the various festivals and foundations that I perform with. I am also a teaching artist, grant writer, and a concert curator at Hispanic Society of America Museum & Library. Check out my website for more information: www.annatonna.com
Hi Anna! Thank you for your post regarding Valencia! I am a fellow mezzo and am dedicating a part of a program recital to Colombian music and I was wondering if you could help me find a copy of Valencia’s “la Luna sobre.” Would you recommend any other Colombian songs? We are going for kind of a night theme whether it’s a lullaby like Berceuse or about dreams, etc. thank you!
